Which Socks are best for Keeping Feet Warm in the Cold?

When it comes to keeping feet warm wicking socks are best.  Unkike cotton socks wicking socks allow moisture to evaporate.  Stay away from cotton socks because the feet sweat in the cotton which then absorbs the moisture and like a sponge then it causes the feet to sit in a wet envirnment, which will then make the feet colder.

What material should be in a sock to keep feet warm?

Combinations of the following:

Merino Woll, Nylon,Lycra,Thermolite Plolyester. Elastane, and Spandex.
